  • To radiate the light of God in our world by sharing the Good News of His Kingdom. This we do through the arts – storytelling, music, drama, dance, and other creative forms.
  • To foster community cohesion and also support those who are involved in community and missionary projects, by offering training and resources.

How it all started:
Abimbola Alao is the ministry coordinator of Adura Ministries and here is her story.
In 1990, I had a vision, in which I saw myself standing in front of a cave, the entrance of which was covered with a big stone. I rolled the stone away to let people out and strangely, many people came out of the cave and I led them to a shepherd who was standing close by. It was about this time that I began to have an inkling of what I am called to do. However, I didn’t understand fully, how the vision would be fulfilled until about 10 years after I’d had the vision.

I see myself as God’s ambassador, sent to radiate His light in a world of chaos and darkness. Today, I work in various communities, praying with people who are ill, or are going through difficult times and I also share stories of hope, love and comfort with people, helping them to re-connect with God, the source of life. One of my best quotes is found in John 15 verse 5-6 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers...”

In August 2006, Adura ministries was launched in Plymouth, please see above for the aims of this ministry.
